Ranchers Daughter

The McCombers have always been involved with horses. Raising a family included competing in all events that required horses and cows. Jack has instructed all levels of riders and enjoys training horses. They have had the privelage of making and enjoying friends in all aspects of showing, ranching, pack trips, clinics, lessons and sales.

Sylvia finds daily inspiration for her authentic western designs through ranch life in Southeastern Colorado. A lifetime spent living the Western way of life, ranching, raising quality cutting and working cow horses and, of course, cowboying has given Sylvia an innate sense of what looks good, is practical yet functional. Sylvia's cowboy creations include leather vests for men, women and children, chaps, chinks, purses, pillows, belts and leather portfolios. Her proficiency at stamping, stitching, and custom fitting combine with her artistic eye, the use of custom silver and accents such as antler, Turquoise, hand stitching with sinew or fine quality kangaroo lace, make her leatherwork top quality. As a native of Montana, Sylvia's earliest artistic influences include Native American art and culture, the Western art of C.M.Russell, and the pioneer spirit of her family who had a large sheep operation in the Sweetgrass Hills, before the area was opened up to homesteading, which brought about converting the ranch to cattle and grain. "The combination of my personal interests, life experiences ,as well as my family, inspire my design ideas. Producing a garment or good that fills a need and brings someone pleasure is very satisfying for me. "
